Happy Saint David's Day!

Dydd gwyl dewi hapus!
Here are some vintage photos of people in traditional Welsh national dress - yes we really wear those hats!!  At least, once a year we do, on St David's Day, to remember our nation's patron saint.  I remember being dressed up by my mother in a shawl, pinned with her mother's brooch, while my brother was dressed as coal miner in a flat cap and carrying a lantern.

And not forgetting the men, who would have been covered in coal from the mines...

  1. Happy St Davids day! My family on my mum's mum's side were Welsh; my nan last lived in St Davids when she was there. I would love to visit Wales and we keep meaning too, but something always crops up to stop us.

ps - the teapot arrived yesterday, it's so sweet, thank you again xx

    1. You are welcome! I hope you get some use out of it!
I love the Welsh connections, they pop up everywhere. I can advise on places to shop vintage and eat cake if you ever do make it over the border...
