Flower Tiara

The warm weather and my recent trips to festivals have left me in a hippy state of mind, and I just had to have one of the flower 'crowns' that I've seen in all the magazines.  Mine isn't a crown, it's actually more of a tiara, with the flowers being set on an alice band.  I picked it up in Primark for £4, and they had lots of other colours and styles.

Flower Tiara

We were expecting friends for dinner, so I pulled out this old blue silk dress from M&S (via the charity shop) and put on some wedges.  The finishing accessory?  A margarita!

Have you embraced the flowers in your hair trend?  I want to wear them everyday but they're not really office appropriate!!

  2. Love it!!! We're on the same wavelength here, as I do have been yearning for a floral crown (headband) myself lately, too. None have been procured as of yet, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled for one in my price range and hope to have my first one before the summer is up. Time will tell!

    1. I think a lot of the new hairbands are quite similar to some '50s cocktail hats - I'm sure you would rock one Jessica! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with x

  3. I've seen loads of bloggers wearing floral crowns/headdresses, they often make their own too. I like a single flower myself! Your floral headband is very pretty (matches the base of your glass too!) and I love the rich shade of that beautiful dress. xxx

  4. Funny you should ask, I'm wearing a flower in my hair right now! The sun has me sticking them behind my ear like there's no tomorrow - haven't tried a crown yet though. Love these colours together, makes me want more royal blue in my life x

  6. Ha! Not at my age, I'd look bloody ridiculous! Plus I'm naturally quite minimalist and hair flowers are too exuberant for my personal style. They look great on you, though.

  10. I have a very cheap little flower headband thing that I pop on once in a while, but I would actually love one of those really massive floral headpieces. Yours is really nice for the price - I love that shade of pink on you.
And I never feel fully dressed at a party without a drink in my hand. ;)

  13. This outfit sure does suit the season, and how lovely these jewel tones look on you. Your flower headband is beautiful; I always think about wearing flowers in my hair, but I am never bold enough to do so, perhaps a headband is the way to go for me as well! Thanks for the inspiration!
