The evening light is magical at this time of year, time to get the camera out and play. Even though the trousers are 1940's reproduction swing trousers, this whole look feels a bit more '70s to me. Sometimes that happens unintentionally. I didn't style my hair in a 1940's way, leaving it loose and uncurled, and the pussybow blouse I wore lacks the shoulder pads of a '40's look. Amazing how small things really help make an era.

Such a great outfit! Love the blouse! x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by Natalia! x
DeleteLove it!! You're right; there is a bit of a '70s feel to this outfit. It's so interesting how little details can change an outfit so much. I love the print on the blouse, by the way!

Jenny
I have to admit, the blouse was 50p from the car boot sale!! I've got so much wear out of it, such a bargain x
DeleteIf that's your hair naturally, consider me very jealous! You're right that styling looks to a certain decade can sometimes completely hinge on all of the finer details coming together. I think your sunglasses are also a big factor to changing the look here. Still great though - and fab use of natural light x
ReplyDeleteI think you're right, the sunglasses might be playing a bigger part here than I thought. Well spotted! Funny how we all have hair envy of other people, I always admire your updos and say 'I wish I could do that!' x
DeleteFabulous retro vibe here! Love the high waisted pants and the blouse and your hair's gorgeous. x
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by lovely! x

The shots of the light behind your head turned out great.
ReplyDeleteMost certainly a 1970's vibe here. Very American Hustle. I didn't care so much for the film, but I loved the styling.

Lovely photographs, and great styling. The trousers are very much like the ubiquitous early 70s parallels. My mum used to call them Oxford bags, a 1920s fashion fad. That's one of the things I like about fashion - it keeps re-imaging, re-styling and re-inventing itself. Wonderful.

ReplyDeleteHi Porcelina! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! I do have to agree that this outfit does have a 70s vibe to it, but I think your curls makes it somewhat 40s too! I love it! I wish I can get my hair to curl like that!
