£70 Dress Budget - What Would You Choose?

After the pain of self-assessment online, I'm delighted to have received a tax refund!

I have a budget of £70. I want a new dress, nothing flimsy, and it must have sleeves, so it's suitable for a) the British weather, and b) for wearing in the day rather than the evening. I don't go out much in the evenings - I'm far more likely to take a day trip or go for afternoon tea.

So, these are the choices I've found so far. Which would you choose? Or do you have an alternative I should have a look at?

  1. Of the two, I would go with the first one since it's a basic, classic dress. You could dress it up or down and accessorize in different ways to get several unique looks from one dress.

  2. I prefer the second one of the two. I also really like "The Emily" dress from BBBB. At £80 inc p&p it's a little over your budget but its such a pretty cut. I've got my eye on that one in case I should ever come into £80 unexpectedly...sigh :)

  3. I love option one! Very pretty :) Seems like it would be quite versatile too.

  4. My first reaction was to go with the second one, lovely colour and the sleeves are pretty but the first one is more wearable and you will get a lot more use out of it I think xx

  5. I actually own both of those dresses, the Peggy is I must say the most versatile but the casino is great fun. x
