Dress: Sainsbury's
Heeled brogues: J Shoes
Necklace: Vintage, Trifari (via charity shop for 50p!)
Lipstick: Revlon's 'Rosewine'
I have to point out that lovely, white painted wall in the background. It took up an afternoon of our time over the weekend. Here are some before and after photos - doesn't it look so much better? We have to do the rest now! What do you think, Mother? (She reads my blog now, just testing that she's paying attention...)
And I'll leave you with a view from the hill that we live at the bottom of. Pretty gorgeous, isn't it?
How are you all getting on with transitional dressing? Are you layering up more to get more wear from your summer clothes, or have you plunged headlong into your Autumn wardrobes?
Aaaah, Wales is just dreamy in the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really nice dress, and it's great to see the Trifari pearls getting an outing so soon! I'm in an in-between stage, dresswise. It really depends on the weather, so some days it's summer dresses plus knitwear and on others the heavier fabrics come out.
I'm enjoying wearing the Trifari, but another pearl popped out last night when I was taking it off - must get the superglue out!! x
DeleteYour dress is so figure flattering and such a lovely colour. I know what you mean about the changing temperatures throughout the day but it has been glorious hasn't it. Love the wall x
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased you like the wall!! It was hard work and we have many more walls to paint, plus need to refinish the top because at some point it was removed and it's all uneven now. x
DeleteThe wall is really cheery and your hometown looks glorious. I have to visit Wales to see this beauty first hand. And I love your dress, so pretty! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, xo.
ReplyDeleteIf you come to Wales I'll take you on a tour of the Valleys! Thanks for stopping by x
DeleteNot only does the wall look great, it is also a great backdrop now for outfit photos - good work ;) I'm having an awful time with the seasons at the moment - I leave for work before 7am every morning when it's about 5 degrees, in several layers and a huge scarf. Without fail every journey home I'm sweltering and/or carrying everything I wore in the morning. Can't stand it!
ReplyDeleteAnother great supermarket find I notice - good old supermarkets! I always look in my Sainsbury's but you seem to find much better stuff than I ever do! It's still Tesco for me... CC x
Ha, my OH did indeed comment that we can use the wall now for outfit photos!! I've brain-washed him completely into 'think blog'. I am a bag lady these days as well, always carrying a scarf, a coat etc. But like you I leave early in the morning when it's decidedly chilly. I did layer up this dress with a cardigan, scarf and trench. x
DeleteYou look stunning. And the nature is amazing, dear.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is the greatest season. The food prepared from the seasonal ingredients is good, the smell in the air is refreshing, the long walks are a must-do. The fashion (as you're showing here) is the best in the year.. layering-addict speaking. :)
Marija
Oh yes, I am with you about it being the greatest season! x
DeleteWhat a view! Aren't you luck yo have all that beauty on your doorstep? That dress is killer on you and yes, too warm for tights and boot yet a while, we've got months ahead of us, wrapped up like eskimos, lets enjoy the sun for as long as possible. xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about eskimos, I tend to lean more towards bag lady in the colder months! x
DeleteYou're right, chilly mornings and sunny afternoons mean that it's not quite time for tights and boots and thick coats yet! Gorgeous dress, your freshly painted wall looks great, and don't you live in a pretty spot? xxx
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I'm in boots today...but still no tights! x
DeleteLove the beautiful wrap dress and the blue and brown combo. The oxfords are a favorite of mine as well. THe view looks great and you did a great job in your yard. It is still warm here i nthe South, cool mornings the last few days, but not cool enough for tights yet.

DeleteYour dress is gorgeous and where you live looks pretty great too! I'm trying to eek out the summer wardrobe abit longer - we'll all be in thick layers soon enough!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the wall - looks great! x
Thanks for stopping by! x
DeleteI love your view, that's really something. It reminds me a little bit of California, with the lights twinkling off in the distance in the hills. Those shoes, too... I have such a weakness for heeled oxfords.
ReplyDeleteI've definitely gone straight from summer into autumn/winter pieces, despite the fact that it's still getting up to 70 most days. Once I start wanting to change things up, it drives me crazy until I do. I actually just finished doing my wardrobe changeover, pulling out all of my cold weather clothing and washing/mending the summer items that I'm putting away. It was so satisfying.
Oh yes, a wardrobe changover can be very satisfying! I will do mine over the next few weeks, I take my time with it. That's funny you mention California, we both saw a resemblance too! Only at night mind! X
DeleteYou look stunning in that dress. September has been lovely so far but I'm afraid it turned here in Cheshire today :-( Lynne x
ReplyDeleteIt's caught up with us here too now! x
DeleteOh my goodness, I really thought your dress was from somewhere like Whistles! Sainsbury's has really excelled itself! I just love it on you, the pattern and colour but the fit is perfect for your figure. you look amazing. I've been wearing Summery clothes until today!
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people have managed to stretch out the summer wardrobe this year! Thanks for visiting x
DeleteYOU ARE STUNNING. I took a double take in the linkup. This is one of the most flattering dresses I have ever seen on you and i love your hair like this. Really, just gorgeous. Thank you so much for linking up to the #reasonstodress linkup, did you know that each comment and entry can be used for the giveaway (but sadly must be put into rafflecopter manually...sorry!)
ReplyDeleteAnyways...beautiful look, so refreshing and different and you are so thin lady!!
Aw, you'll make me blush with comments like that!! Thanks again for hosting the linkup. x
DeleteLooks like it was a beautiful afternoon, and that dress fits you so perfectly!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
The last rays of sunlight! A few minutes afterwards, the sun had dipped below the mountains.x
DeleteLove the understated chic-ness of the dress.

DeleteI mainly just add tights to dresses and wear a slightly thicker jacket, or add a cardigan undernearth the jacket. I got completely surprised by the weather, 3 days ago in the morning it was warm and nice, but in the afternoon it was cold. Next morning it was snowing. Greetings from Finland, winter came early this year. :D Everything melted away and I dare to hope I don't need to start wearing my woolcoat just yet in case it gets warmer again. As much as I love winter, I don't love it two months too early.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you've had snow already, that's crazy! I hope it was just a one-off, and that it stays a bit warmer for a few months more...
DeleteThe white on wall really does make a difference! Great job on it! I'm definitely a hold off and layer person around these changing seasons. With our weather here in Northern California there are still days to come that might get rather hot. I do love going through my closets once the weather really changes to the cooler months though. It's nice to pull everything out and see dresses I haven't seen in months. It helps to remind me what I have in the closet! ;)
ReplyDeleteoo whereabouts are you in NC?? I studied up in the Appalachians for a semester, years and years ago! The beauty of the state will stay with me always. x
DeleteGorgeous photos! Love the colors and style of your dress! It fits you perfectly!
