Lindybop 'Cassie' Dress for Treorchy Vintage & Craft Fair

I popped to a local event last weekend, the Treorchy Vintage & Craft Fair.  Held in a hall, the fair was 90% craft, with a smattering of vintage clothing and bric-a-brac.

I always try and call in to these events in the run-up to Christmas, as it's good to get some inspiration.  A nice little touch was goody bags handed out by the Boots stall to advertise their Christmas gift range.

As for my outfit, it's an oldie but a goodie!  This dress is very easy to throw on - it fits neatly but not restrictively, and is fancy enough that you can get away with not accessorising it.  It did have a big bow on the front but I took it off so I could wear the dress to work.

  1. That dress is cute with and without the bow, maybe it looks even more classy without it :) Those boots are really pretty as well, although I could not wear that color. It's just one of those colors that will not fit me no matter if I tried.

I have my Collectic Reginal doll black dress for an easy to wear favourite. It's comfortable and easy to dress up with a petticoat and some accessories, or easy to just keep simple and wear it as it is. Also easy to wash and hasn't lost its color in the washing machine. :)

    1. Sounds like you found the perfect dress! Collectif is another favourite brand of mine. X

  2. Splendidly pretty frock! There are few repro/vintage inspired brands that I don't yet own a piece from, but want to, than Lindy Bop. If only the exchange rate was way kinder, shipping costs didn't break the bank, and there was no such thing as customs fees! Or, you know, Lindy Bop's offerings were easier to find here in Canada. That would definitely work, too! :)

    1. We Brits probably feel the same about Mod Cloth - one brand I'd definitely love to try! Also, Shabby Apple. Maybe one day! X

  3. Such a cute dress! I love the color, and I love that you paired it with those boots (which are awesome, by the way).

My easy-to-wear garment is a blue plaid 1950s day dress. It looks fabulous completely un-embellished or with a cardigan or brooch. It's my go-to on those days when I just don't have a clue what I want to wear.

    Cheers!

  4. Very pretty dress - we all need a reliable go-to frock in our wardrobes! I think dresses are so much easier than separates, just throw them on and you're virtually ready! xxx

    1. That's what Dita von Teese says too! Though sometimes if she's extra lazy she skips the underwear - fine for LA but not so much in the UK... X

  5. This is weird, I just ordered some boots from the US that look very much like this! Now I've seen yours I'm even more excited for them to arrive, hooray. And also hooray for another Lindybop success - this dress is so flattering on you. I can see why it's your throw-on favourite... I did think about this but I'm not sure I have anything in this category - probably because I'm more of a separates gal and actually don't have that many dresses! I need to work on this... CC x

  6. I never used to be a dress girl but have found more and more of them creeping into my wardrobe in the last couple of years. I have treated myself to a couple of Hobbs dresses in their sale which I love wearing.

  7. The boots! I had my eyes on some almost exactly like them...vintage. I told the gal at the store that I wanted to buy them but they were missing a hook. So she said she would have them repaired and get back to me when they were ready. She should have just lowered the price, I would have taken them. Instead it has been two months of me emailing and texting her and still she doesn't have them. I'm thinking now she sold them to someone else.

Dresses are very easy to wear for me as well, but it depends on the weather. Now that it is cooler I might reach for jeans.

    1. It's wild and wet and windy here, so yesterday I wore jeggings!! I know, fashion sin, but I was visiting builder's merchants and cleaning the house. X

  8. That dress is cuuuuute. I think I prefer it without the the bow, though. Love the boots too, very sassy.
I have a couple of vintage shirt dresses that do that for me. Depending on the shoes, they can look either dressy or casual, but I always feel like I look good in them.

  9. I love easy to wear dresses! :D In general I find dresses to be much more easy to wear than separates but I do know and appreciate how some dresses are easier to wear than others :D I love this dress on you! I love the sleeves and the collar. I like it with the bow but I like it without the bow too. What a difference taking off the bow makes! Makes it a completely different dress!

  12. That's a cute frock. You have such good events round your way.

I wish I had some quick go-to outfits. Well, I do, but they're the awful things I slob about in on Saturdays! I wouldn't show them on my blog...
