I always try and call in to these events in the run-up to Christmas, as it's good to get some inspiration. A nice little touch was goody bags handed out by the Boots stall to advertise their Christmas gift range.
As for my outfit, it's an oldie but a goodie! This dress is very easy to throw on - it fits neatly but not restrictively, and is fancy enough that you can get away with not accessorising it. It did have a big bow on the front but I took it off so I could wear the dress to work.
Dress: Lindybop
Boots: Jones the Bootmaker
Jacket: Mexx
I wore the dress for my birthday some years ago:
Do you have an easy-to-wear favourite? Ten seconds, and you're out the door?
That dress is cute with and without the bow, maybe it looks even more classy without it :) Those boots are really pretty as well, although I could not wear that color. It's just one of those colors that will not fit me no matter if I tried.
ReplyDeleteI have my Collectic Reginal doll black dress for an easy to wear favourite. It's comfortable and easy to dress up with a petticoat and some accessories, or easy to just keep simple and wear it as it is. Also easy to wash and hasn't lost its color in the washing machine. :)
Sounds like you found the perfect dress! Collectif is another favourite brand of mine. X
DeleteSplendidly pretty frock! There are few repro/vintage inspired brands that I don't yet own a piece from, but want to, than Lindy Bop. If only the exchange rate was way kinder, shipping costs didn't break the bank, and there was no such thing as customs fees! Or, you know, Lindy Bop's offerings were easier to find here in Canada. That would definitely work, too! :)

We Brits probably feel the same about Mod Cloth - one brand I'd definitely love to try! Also, Shabby Apple. Maybe one day! X
DeleteSuch a cute dress! I love the color, and I love that you paired it with those boots (which are awesome, by the way).
ReplyDeleteMy easy-to-wear garment is a blue plaid 1950s day dress. It looks fabulous completely un-embellished or with a cardigan or brooch. It's my go-to on those days when I just don't have a clue what I want to wear.
Cheers!
Jenny
I think I know the dress you mean, did you show it on your blog a while ago? Must make life easy on those hectic mornings! X
DeleteVery pretty dress - we all need a reliable go-to frock in our wardrobes! I think dresses are so much easier than separates, just throw them on and you're virtually ready! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's what Dita von Teese says too! Though sometimes if she's extra lazy she skips the underwear - fine for LA but not so much in the UK... X
DeleteThis is weird, I just ordered some boots from the US that look very much like this! Now I've seen yours I'm even more excited for them to arrive, hooray. And also hooray for another Lindybop success - this dress is so flattering on you. I can see why it's your throw-on favourite... I did think about this but I'm not sure I have anything in this category - probably because I'm more of a separates gal and actually don't have that many dresses! I need to work on this... CC x
ReplyDeleteI hope your boots are just perfect for you - I have found mine to be versatile and they've lasted well. Look forward to seeing a pic of you in yours! X
DeleteI never used to be a dress girl but have found more and more of them creeping into my wardrobe in the last couple of years. I have treated myself to a couple of Hobbs dresses in their sale which I love wearing.
ReplyDeleteOo yes Hobbs dresses are great, but I agree about waiting for sale time!! X
DeleteThe boots! I had my eyes on some almost exactly like them...vintage. I told the gal at the store that I wanted to buy them but they were missing a hook. So she said she would have them repaired and get back to me when they were ready. She should have just lowered the price, I would have taken them. Instead it has been two months of me emailing and texting her and still she doesn't have them. I'm thinking now she sold them to someone else.
ReplyDeleteDresses are very easy to wear for me as well, but it depends on the weather. Now that it is cooler I might reach for jeans.

It's wild and wet and windy here, so yesterday I wore jeggings!! I know, fashion sin, but I was visiting builder's merchants and cleaning the house. X
DeleteThat dress is cuuuuute. I think I prefer it without the the bow, though. Love the boots too, very sassy.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of vintage shirt dresses that do that for me. Depending on the shoes, they can look either dressy or casual, but I always feel like I look good in them.
Shirt dresses are a good option, I think you're right about the shoes setting the tone of the outfit x
DeleteI love easy to wear dresses! :D In general I find dresses to be much more easy to wear than separates but I do know and appreciate how some dresses are easier to wear than others :D I love this dress on you! I love the sleeves and the collar. I like it with the bow but I like it without the bow too. What a difference taking off the bow makes! Makes it a completely different dress!
ReplyDeleteI feel like the bow makes a big difference too - without it, I felt comfortable wearing the dress to work. X
DeleteFab in cobalt blue! Dresses are so easy to chuck on, a life saver with 5am starts! x
ReplyDelete5am?! It would be lucky if I managed anything other than PJs at that early an hour! X
DeleteSuch a cute dress! I love the detailed color on it... I really think that touch makes the dress! And tie up boots like yours are something on my wishlist. The are super cute! Craft fairs area always a lot of fun... I am a fan of brooches and it looks like they have a lot of cool ones there :)

Hi Olivia! Always nice to meet another brooches fan! Thanks for stopping by x
DeleteThat's a cute frock. You have such good events round your way.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had some quick go-to outfits. Well, I do, but they're the awful things I slob about in on Saturdays! I wouldn't show them on my blog...
I'll post a pic of me in my slobs if you do...

Love that dress and how you wore your hair. I go crazy at vintage fairs. I usually only bring cash and limit myself to what I have in my pocket!
