The 3/4 Sleeve Coat Made for Twirling

I love full skirted coats, they are made for swishing and twirling!  This coat is several years old, a Primark buy, and I recently rediscovered it, after it falling out of favour for a while.  I had originally imagined it with elbow length leather gloves, which remain on the 'to-buy' list, but I have started wearing it with long sleeves underneath.

Coat: Primark
Boots: 'Empire' by J Shoes
Scarf: H&M

And here's a pic of me wearing the coat when I first bought it, back in 2010.

Do you end up resurrecting things from the back of the wardrobe?  Or once lost, do they never reappear?

  1. Cute coat! I love a belted coat with a full skirt - they're so elegant and girly. And adorable 2010 Porcelina :) I definitely rediscover things from the depths of my wardrobe every now and then - often because I think of a new way to wear them. But this doesn't happen that often because I try very hard to live by the 6 month rule; if you haven't worn it in 6 months you never will again so throw it out! Often shoot myself in the foot this way though and throw out things I later think I really want again... CC x

    1. Gosh that's a strict rule, I don't think I could do it!! I have dresses that I only wear once a year (e.g. Christmas dresses) so I would definitely not get through my whole wardrobe in 6 months. P x

    1. That's a good attitude, to give it all a fair go.

  4. i love the twirly-ness of this! Nothing makes a girl feel beautiful like some clothes that she can spin around in:) Rediscovering pieces is literally the best thing ever, it's like going shopping in your own closet! Lovely post and i hope you have a great week!

  5. This is a wonderful coat and it's so great that you have had it for a while! :) Coats are things that always hang out longer in my closet than any other pieces.

  8. I resurrect things all the time ;-) But it must be a particular piece to stay with me long enough to be able to get a resurrection. Love the ruffles and the full skirt part on your coat.

  9. I love rediscovering clothes in my closet! I think that's the reason why I usually have the hardest time getting rid of clothes. Twice a year I rotate my closet putting the spring/summer stuff away and getting the fall/winter stuff out and vise versa... it's one of my favorite times of year! It's like getting all new clothes especially when I see dresses I wasn't able to wear the previous winter :)

    1. I do rotations too, though now we've moved house there's much more space for some items to be out all year round. I just got my winter coats out and packed away the really light summer dresses. Slighly thicker ones I will try to layer up for a month or so to get some more wear out of them! And yes, finding those things you'd forgotten about is brilliant! X

  10. Also, love the full skirt on this dress! It's so nice to have a coat to go with fuller skirts and fuller skirted dress! :)

  11. I am shocked that you have not changed a bit since 2010, what is your secret! That coat is a total closet staple and would look lovely with heels for a night out too!

Thank you so much for joining the #reasonstodress linkup beautiful lady!

    1. Believe me, a close-up would reveal more than a few changes!!

I have worn this coat out in the evening with green peep-toe heels and hot pink lippy, it definitely works from day to night!

  12. Such a cute coat, but sadly would have little use in the cold autumns and winters of Finland :) But I'd love a full skirted coat as well to go along with my circle skirts and petticoats.
If I lose something in my wardrobe it's probably gone forever :D Every now and then I find my old clothes, wear them maybe once or twice and then they are re-forgotten.

    1. Gosh I can imagine in Finland you need super heavy duty coats! Yes it's already a bit chilly for this coat here, but I may get a bit more wear out of it over the winter if I layer up enough. X

  13. I have a lot of things I would resurrect in a minute if I could get into them. Otherwise, I don't really own enough clothes to forget about anything.

That is a jolly nice coat, well worth rediscovering.
