1960's Harella Jacket and a Mid Station Badge

Last Sunday was just the most gorgeously sunny day, it really felt like Spring was on the way!  We go on a little driving tour of the local area most weekends, but on a sunny day we feel the need to explore a bit further and make the most of the glorious weather.

Isn't the jet-setting couple on the badge marvellous?  Maybe that's my husband-to-be and me in a decade or two.  I was absolutely delighted to be sent the badge by artist Emily Moore, who has an Etsy shop, Mid Station, where she sells these wonderful badges.  Based in Scotland, Emily uses National Geographics from the mid-century along with wood and resin to craft these incredibly unique badges.  No two are the same!  Beautifully presented in a little box, they'd make a super gift for vintage lovers.

I loved discovering this blonde field on top of a hill, I am hankering to return and wear a red dress, I think it would look amazing against the bleached gold of the field and the blue of the sky.  I'm going to have to start a spreadsheet of locations soon - there's a spreadsheet for everything, that's what I say!

  1. Your outfit photos have all been particularly stunning recently - I love the tweed colours against the natural plant life here... reminds me of when I found that wheat field in summer (still some of the best photos I've ever taken - no thanks to me, all thanks to the wheat field!). Lovely cosy outfit - that jacket is great, I've been looking for something similar with no luck so far... they're always much longer than I want.

The video is coming... however was meant to finish it today and realised there's something wrong on one of the slides, after I'd exported and uploaded it, totalling an hour. So now I've left it in a grump, but still hoping to get it up next week... It's way harder going than I thought it would be, and that's with a little helper!! xx

    1. Oh best of luck with the video!! I found it way more time intensive than I'd thought too, especially when you finally do a good take and then realise you were sat in the dark or something... (Whoops!)

Thanks for the photo love, the OH has been doing a stirling job, though we have creative differences on occasion!! But that's a whole other post..

      Xx

  3. Holy cow, I love this jacket, I love the badge and I love the setting for these photos, too! Everything is stunning from start to finish. The jacket looks so warm, but still has such a nice cut and shape (something that isn't always easy to find in cold weather clothes). Fabulous! I've favorited the shop for the badges on Etsy, too, so thank you for the heads-up. :)

    Cheers!

    1. Thanks Jenny, I love this jacket too!! My Baby got it for me from the car boot sale, he even tried it on to check it would fit me (as we're roughly the same size), much to the amusement of the lady selling it!! The badges are so cute aren't they? X

  5. Your weather looks so lovely, I can't wait until we're on the upswing as well. It's so frigid here right now, I just don't even want to go outside!
Love your casual country look. You look fabulous, and right out home with the grass and the big blue sky. I think you're right about a red dress looking really smashing against this background, I would love to see that as well.

  7. Ooohh, you lucky duck, what a treat to be bathed in sunshine this early in the year. It's been cement grey skies and icy rain for us lately for the most part. I really like the earthy, tranquil vibe of these great photos and your chic, cozy ensemble. They suit the optimistic element of late winter so very well.

    1. The fur was added by the previous owner, apparently it didn't come on the jacket originally, but I love it too! So cosy. Thanks so much for stopping by Carrie! X
