'60s Sunset: Poloneck Mini Dress & Boots

This was another experiment with more of a '60s look.  I didn't realise quite how short that dress was until I looked back at the photos, blimey, I'm glad I had thick tights on.  As part of this look I am showing off yet another pair of boots today.  They just keep on coming!  A girl can never have enough pairs of boots.  Especially in a cold, wet climate.

For this shoot we explored yet another hidden pocket of the Welsh Valleys, and were rewarded with a snaking tree-lined track leading to a beautiful open spot of rolling hills, a stream, and a quietness that is increasingly hard to find in modern life.  Nothing but the sound of sheep and the water.  We were blessed with gorgeous light just as the sun started to sink behind the mountains, and had to work quickly.  By the time we drove off the air was cold and grey, no warmth left without the sun.

  2. Beautiful look - you really suit the 60s, especially with that fringe... and also because you really have the leg for minis! More minis, I say! Gorgeous make-up too. Seems we're both having a little play with the 60s at the moment ;) xx

    1. It's fun playing with different eras!! The make-up was a bit of an experiment too but a look I've been wearing more and more. The grey eyeshadow is the most gorgeous shade from Laura Mercier, a proper grey with no silver in it.

I've got my legs out today too in another quite short '60s inspired dress!! x

  3. Gorgeous photos, the hair and the gloves shout Sixties to me, fabulous! You're right, a girl can never have enough boots, I need the weather to pick up and a free weekend so I can go find some more. Boot sales are the best places for boots! xxx

    1. I just had to look up 'Get Smart' - I assume you mean the '50s TV series with Barbara Feldon? It's funny, because she looks a lot like Diana Rigg, and I have been told quite a few times over the years that I look a bit similar to Diana! I wish! x

  5. Great pics, and fab legs! I'd have called that a jumper, but if you tell me it's a dress, then I'll believe you! The Sixties vibe suits you very much. xxx

  9. ... I really want to go to Wales. Soooo preeeeeetty.
Super cute outfit. Dear god, woman, you have seriously got legs for days. You really have a gift for rocking a mini, and I like that this one is a bit more covered up, with the turtleneck and the long sleeves. I think the tights add a cute touch with the polka dots.

  12. That last picture of you is so beautiful. And .... are you working out, because your body is smokin'!! Must be the wedding prep that has you looking so good. I've never felt better than before I got married, it was the best motivation to take care of myself.

I love this simple sixties outfit and the inspiration to go do some pilates like RIGHT NOW!!

    1. Getting married is indeed a big motivation! For me, I find that diet is 80% to blame for my shape - if I eat right (which for me is low carb) and keep fairly active (yoga, gardening, minimum of 20 minutes walk a day) then I can keep in reasonable shape. Thanks for stopping by x
