T-shirt: Primark
Cardigan: Primark
Shoes: Asda
Sunglasses: via charity shop
The outfit wasn't intended for a blog post, it just happened to be what I was wearing on the way back from the Minor Injuries Unit and the sunglasses were in my car. So, please excuse the shapeless t-shirt that's a different shade of black to the trousers and really is the wrong silhouette! You might have noticed the bandage on my foot. I burnt my foot and the front of my leg. On a hot water bottle (!)... Luckily it didn't hamper my bikini-wearing plans on holiday, because after the afore-mentioned bikini-drama that would have been the final straw, but if you look closely in the next few outfit posts you might see some bandages and plasters and some half-hearted attempts to conceal them. I also managed to get whiplash off a rollercoaster, while the husband-to-be has injured his feet on a water slide, as well as head-butting the bedside table punctually at 5:30am each morning. He's currently tip-toeing around like a ballerina as he can't put any weight on his arches.
Please make us feel better by telling me about silly injuries that you've procured?
Beautiful pictures and I love the white shades with the striped cardigan! Silly injuries...hmm probably just a guy stepping on my foot. That bruise lasted for weeks!! x

Well he was the silly one! Poor foot. x
DeleteIf it makes you feel any better I burned myself with meatball sauce :D I stirred it too hard so spilled it on my bare leg (I was wearing either minishorts or just panties, because it was hot, can't remember) and when I tried to wipe it off, I wiped off my skin as well. I was left with a burn almost in the shape of a heart.

So yeah, I basically scalded my own leg with meatball sauce.
OUCH! Meatball sauce?! Oh my goodness that does sound painful - and LOOK painful from those photos. Maybe get a pretty vintage pinny to cover those legs next time you're cooking in the heat!! I hope it healed up ok in time? xx
DeleteLove this outfit! And that blossom is so pretty too - amazing photographs! Jess x #streetstylesunday
ReplyDeleteThank you, I was pleased with how they turned out, though the outtakes are pretty funny! Lots of cars going past and wondering what the hell I was doing!!
DeleteFlowers everywhere! We are almost into summer now, soon flowers would be the thing of the past as it will be too hot for them but perhaps frangipani and bougainvillea. Anyway, loving the black white and of course the classic stripes!
ReplyDeleteOh I love bougainvillea, you're lucky to have that where you live! x
DeleteOh my! It has been a painful few weeks for you! Sorry to hear that.
ReplyDeleteI am nursing a massive bump and soon-to-be-bruise on my right hand from baton twirling. Yes...that's right. I'm 47 years old and was outside twirling a baton that another blogger bought me as a gift and it landed right on my bone. When I was 8 it wasn't a problem. Now though...I can see I need to be more careful. Or wear some wrist guards. LOL
Those blooms are fabulous. I think this week we will have the same in our neighbourhood and I'm hopeful I can catch them as well.
bisous
Suzanne
Baton twirling?! That wins over my hot water bottle, surely!
DeleteFair play for giving it a go, but yes maybe wear some protective clothing until you've mastered it...
x
Whoops! Sorry to hear it's been an accident-prone couple of weeks, it happens! I whack my knee on my bed leg every week without fail, black and bruised! Love your trousers in this post, I do look forward this time of year and all the lovely spring colours in the blossom! Katie x

Why don't we learn from these weekly bruises?! We've got particularly sharp door handles that get me every few weeks...
DeleteThat blows that you hurt yourself right before going on vacation! I'm glad it didn't put too much of a crimp in your style. I know this wasn't a "blog" outfit, but I think your everyday style is super chic and fun. I love the striped cardigan and the wide legged pants, you look so elegant. Great job catching the flowers in full bloom, the photos turned out beautifully.
ReplyDeleteFortunately it wasn't an open wound so I just taped it up and was still able to enjoy swimming and wearing that new bikini!!
DeleteI have to write down where this blossom was and visit it every Spring. Next year maybe with a bit more glamorous outfit!! x
Lordy, your poor foot! Burns are horrible because they just keep hurting, don't they? And your fiance in pain too - sounds like you need your holiday to recover. At least you can recover in style!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually surprised by how little pain it's given me, I was lucky. We're both on the mend now, feeling much better just in time to go back to work!!
DeleteArgh no! Sounds like you've both been in the wars but hats off for your dedication taking outfit photos on your return from being patched up! That's a true style blogger for you ;) But how could you resist with those lovely blooms? I just spotted some beautiful ones near me yesterday and am going to dash out to snap with them this afternoon - like you say, the window of opportunity is pretty narrow with blossom! I love your monochrome outfit against all the pink, actually. You look casually fabulous. Have a great bank holiday monday! xx
ReplyDeleteWell you've just got to make the most of these opportunities - it was a town that I never just pass through so I thought while I was there I'd do some snaps, and I also found a load of art deco buildings, so there's another blog post coming up about those! Certainly got my money's worth of blog posts as a consequence of the injury!!
DeleteHope you're having a fab bank hol too x
Gorgeous photos! I love your sunnies! Sorry to hear about your foot! Hope it heals quickly!
ReplyDeletep.s. I featured your gingham dress on our Thursday Fashion Files linkup last week!

Doused In Pink
Thank you so much!! x
DeleteWonderful photos - you and the blossoms are gorgeous. Heal soon, I hope : > Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, xo.
ReplyDeleteAw thanks Patti xx
DeleteGorgeous photos and beautiufl blossom but ouch to that horrid foot injury, whiplash and to your bloke's misfortunes, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm the most accident prone person in the world. Most recent was ripping my toenail completely off, climbing the stairs drunk. xxx
Oh blimey Vix, that is quite an injury!! Was it the sad children looking down at you that made you lose concentration?! X
DeleteBeautiful photos! We still have some time before the cherry and apple trees bloom here in New England.
ReplyDelete-Emily
Such beautiful blossom. And even though you don't think that outfit is blog-ready, you look fab! Hope all the various injuries are on the mend. xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you - just shows it's worth keeping a tripod in the car boot! Healing up ok thanks! X
DeleteThose blossoms are almost surreal-y beautiful, oh my word! Sure, we get some nice ones around these parts, as most places do in the spring, but not since I last saw Vancouver in the spring, have I seen blossoms that could even hold a candle to those ones. Awesome spot for a photo shot. They play up the vibrancy of your fun outfit and do glorious things to your (already gorgeous) colouring. J'adore!!!
ReplyDelete♥ Jessica
Aw thanks Jessica I definitely a spot to make a not of, for next year!! Xx
DeleteBEAUTIFUL!!! Ah....this is what Spring is all about. I could practically smell them.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love those glasses on you!
I love the double stripes and those fantastic, retro frames. You look lovely next to that flower tree. Ah Spring!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend! <3 Ada.
Like an avocado-that's so true! Hilarious. The pictures turned out gorgeous, especially with your contrasting stripes!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to catch these blossoms! They are so pretty. I love them against the pink fence and I love them against the blue sky! So pretty! And that's the funny thing about avocados, spring blooms, and vacations isn't it. I tend to get hurt during vacations as well! Playing too hard I suppose. ;)
ReplyDeleteThere;s just something about blossom, it makes you so happy! And when the petals start fluttering to the ground like confetti everything looks festive :-) Such pretty photos.

Such gorgeous scenery!! Living in a desert, I don't get to see pretty flowers and greenery often. I hope you are feeling better!!
ReplyDeletePenn&Quill
Love your fun casual stripes, and those blooms are just stunning!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
For an un-intended outfit, I LOVE it. The sunglasses adds such a fun factor to these photos. Ouch on the foot, I hope it heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you Thursday.
