Necklace: Vintage, Corocraft, via car boot sale, £2.

The necklace has a little tag that says 'Corocraft', but I don't know how old it is. Are those little tulips do you think? Well worth £2 I'm sure, regardless of age. I bought it off a lady who had a shed load of vintage jewellery, all extremely reasonably priced.
It turns out that I'm perfectly comfortable in a maxi dress for daytime, it doesn't bother me at all having the fabric flapping around. I wore this dress for a morning at the car boot sale by the sea, and found it really comfortable and easy to wear. I've since bought a few more, including a couple of vintage ones, so watch this space as I get a little bit more '70s 'tastic! The leg's much better by the way at the time of publishing this, I've been on antibiotics and some kind of steriod cream (cue your jokes about me living in the Welsh Valleys and steroids...).

Eesh, your poor leg! Glad it's on the mend now at least. I think you were made for maxis - you look tall and willowy and super chic! 70s is one of your eras - you might as well explore it now while it's all in the shops too ;) love from a very sunny Marseille where I'm currently eating a croissant in our quirky french apartment :D xx
ReplyDeleteThat maxi looks fab on you - what a crackin' boot sale bargain!
ReplyDeleteThat maxi looks fantastic, buy more!
ReplyDeleteCorocraft was sold in many department stores (including Boots & Debenhams). I didn't get my ears pierced until my mid-twenties and used to buy their clip-on & magnetic earrings in the 1980s. xxx
What a truly gorgeous maxi dress! I love the colors, pattern, fit - all of it. You suit maxis so well (luck lady!).
ReplyDeleteYour Corocraft tulip necklace is thoroughly darling. Given that it's Corocraft with the (Coro) pegasus emblem at the front and that the metal used is shiny gold tone, I'd very tentatively date it to the 1950s or 60s, however Corocraft was in business in the US until 1979 (it was founded there in 1901 and they set up business in the UK for the first time in 1933), so it could be a little newer still. I get a big time 60s vibe from it though personally. It's a really charming piece and such a steal at just 2 pounds.
Happy start of summer, dear gal!

Oh golly, your poor leg! I hope it continues to heal well now. You really look good in a maxi, at any rate.
ReplyDeleteCorocraft was the biggest costume jewellery brand in the UK at one point, made over here on licence from the US. I haven't been able to find info on a tag exactly like yours to get a date. (Augh! Frustrating!) It's a jolly nice necklace, delicate without being flimsy.
The maxi is lovely on you, and just the thing while your poor leg heals. The Corocraft necklace reminds me very much of jewellery from the late 70s-early 80s, but it's only a guess. Very pretty though! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou look just as good in a maxi and I thought you would! This is a lovely look on you. I'm totally digging the floppy hat and boho vibe I'm getting from this. Sorry about your leg, though, that sounds terrible. Burns are just the worst.
ReplyDeleteAre there... are there jokes about the Welsh and steroids? Not being British, I'm not super up on who to make fun of for what.
You look fantastic in the sun.
ReplyDeleteThank you soooooooooooo much for your comment.

This dress is so gorgeous! I love the print and the colors! So pretty on you!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit but I am a bit of a maxi dress hoarder. So sorry to hear about your leg.
