Yumi Bunting, Buses & Teapots Dress

I went for afternoon tea with some family for my Mum's birthday to a local manor house.  What more appropriate dress to wear than the Yumi bunting, buses, and teapots dress?  The print also features umbrellas, but the less said about those the better - we were lucky that the sun came out after our tea, so we had a little stroll around the pretty grounds and I enlisted my Mum as photographer.  She did a super job, and was very patient, thanks Mum!

Dress: Yumi, via charity shop
Shoes: Asda
Bag: Gift
Hairflower: H&M
Sunglasses: Vintage fair in Cardiff

I really enjoyed wearing this dress, it's a lovely light cotton, and the print feels very 'British'.  The dress is perhaps a tad too big around the back, which means that the open-back detail doesn't sit quite right and the label keeps popping out.  Maybe a good iron would help that too, but I am very reluctant to iron anything.  It's not my favourite household chore.

The afternoon tea was delightful, so I shall dedicate a full post to reviewing it another time soon.  I certainly had to loosen that belt by a notch afterwards!

  1. I'm going for afternoon tea with my parents in a couple of weeks - but I doubt my mum would be a patient photographer! Also she takes about a minute to snap every photo, which is just not the right pace for a blogger ;) yours did a great job though! I love this more cutesy side of your style - and I always love red accessories! Completely agree with you on the ironing. My new denim dress has to be ironed and although I love it, it's seriously putting me off wearing it!!! Love from a very often rainy Norfolk coast xx

    1. My mums idea of photography lasts about 10 seconds and involves her taking about 3 photos while slowly walking towards me for some reason!

  2. I've got a couple of Yumi dresses I love them for their quirky prints (Whales and dinosaurs in my case) and they aren't too short which is always a bonus too.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the afternoon tea.

  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't iron!

  4. This dress is so cute! I love the pattern, and that open back detail is very flirty. You do look quite British, as you said.
Ironing is such a boring chore, but I'm always so pleased with how crisp my clothes look afterwards. Although the best is when I can get Brian to do it for me.

  5. This is one adorable outfit! I particularly like those cute lace shoes, the toes are just pointy enough, without being too pointy you know? Super cute! The manor house looks beautiful, I wish we had more places like that here in Colorado, but most of the US's pretty old houses tend to be on the east coast!

  6. I just love this fabric! I never get anyone but my boyfriend to photograph me when we go out, he's a photographer and actually enjoys it :P Everyone else takes one photo (usually out of focus) and goes DONE! haha! :)

  7. Your Mum did a great job with the photos and the print on your chazza dress is wonderfully British and perfect for a visit to a stately home. xxx

  9. That's a beautiful building, what a lovely venue for tea.
The dress looks great, although I am never convinced by Yumi clothing - I see so much of it in the charity shop, and it doesn't seem to wear very well, the dresses get very bobbly and out of shape. So take care of that one! xx

  10. Fabulously charming dress! I'm a huge anglophile and would wear pretty much anything in that delightful fabric.

  13. Such a cute dress! The print reminds me a lot of Cath Kidston's style, (or maybe it's just the the tea mixed in the British theme?) Such an awesome find to find it in a charity shop! Looking forward to reading about your time at tea! Such lovely pictures!
