This trench is fairly short, as modern ones tend to be. The original trenchcoats would have been much longer, starting off as a military item of clothing.
Trenchcoat, Primark
Scarf, shop in West Wales
Umbrella, TK Maxx

What do you wear on a rainy day? I'm afraid my vintage authenticity often goes out the window when it's raining, as shorter hemlines dry out quicker!
Linkups:
This trench is fabulous! You look perfectly chic despite the weather. :)
ReplyDeleteThe bulk of my outfit is not usually affected by rain, but I'll often grab a hat or scarf to cover my hair. Also, I'll grab more sensible shoes because, like you said, there is nothing worse than wet feet!
Cheers,
Jenny
Thanks Jenny, it's been an indispensable item over the wet Spring! x
DeleteThat is how to do rain in style without resorting to the famous "London Black".

Bit of colour makes things more Spring/Summer like, even if the weather's not cooperating!! x
DeleteI find it so difficult to find good boots for rainy weather. I've got a couple of go-to pairs of leather boots for when it's not coming down too hard, but I just can't do big rubber things.
ReplyDeleteYou look really cute! I love that trench, the piping gives it so much more interest than if it were just plain.
I've got a pair of wellies that are a last resort for if it's so wet I'm sloshing as I walk along! I fell for this trench too because of the piping - you can never have enough piping, right?! x
DeleteLove your coat - The white piping against the navy looks wonderful. And the scarf looks really good with it too!

I love a classic white and navy combo! Splash of red cheers it right up x
DeleteThat trench is so cute! Such a statement piece :)
ReplyDeleteThanks lovely, it's been working hard! x
DeleteWe don't have to worry too much about rain in Australia, but boots are always my go-to if it's wet outside. I can't stand having wet feet! Cute outfit though- love the navy trench. ♡

It's funny you mention Australia and rain, because I lived there for a year back in 2000 and honestly it was MONSOON in Syndney for weeks on end then we had SNOW and FROSTS, unbelievable, and not at all what I associated with Australia!! I hadn't taken any boots or jackets, and had to go out and buy wet and cold weather gear. x
DeleteFirmly of the opinion that trench coats are the only way to handle the British weather! I love your navy and red pairing - and agree ankle boots are a marvellous idea in the rain. I've not seen many UK bloggers posing with umbrellas, which seems unlikely really! CC x
ReplyDeleteGosh I'd never thought of that, you're right that umbrellas don't feature in blogs nearly as much as you'd think. Do we all wait for that one sunny day?! x
Deletered and navy is always a winning combination, and maybe if I had a trench as sleek as yours I'd want to take outfit photos in the rain too.
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
It was fun posing in the rain for a change! x
DeleteOmg, this is such a cute outfit! Love the pops of red, the white piping on the trench and the umbrella is just the perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! x
DeleteLovely shape on that brolly. I wear a waxed jacket most days which is good for rain or sun x
ReplyDeleteOo a waxed jacket, that's definitely a good alternative too! x
DeleteSuper cute coat! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks lovely! x
DeleteSuch a cute and colorful outfit for a rainy day :) Totally love the umbrella and the trench coat. Navy+red is so pretty combination.
