Wrapping up warm and heading up a hill or into the forest to explore is one of my favourite things to do when the weather allows, and it's always nice to tie in a few shots for the blog too. I wore my French Connection dress that I picked up for £1 in a charity shop haul. It's got a bit of an indecent plunge in the front, so I wore a slip underneath.
Dress: French Connection, via charity shop
Necklace: Midcentury vintage, it was my Grandmother's
Boots: Jones the Bootmaker, many years ago
Coat: Vintage, via charity shop
Faux fur collar: H&M
Gloves: F&F at Tesco
It's still a novelty that 5 minutes up the road, there is amazing scenery like this! I hope I never, ever tire of it or take it for granted. I'm trying to show off as much of the glorious surroundings as I can in my posts, I really should be sponsored by the Wales Tourist Board.
I couldn't resist a Kate Bush moment. Expect many more of them in 2015.
Thanks all for the kind comments on the menswear post I did a week ago. My husband-to-be has many, many coats, and has started sizeable shoe and hat collections, so I will slot in the odd menswear post in future if you don't mind. He's just as much a poser as me, and was really chuffed after all the nice things you said! It's funny how there aren't many men's personal style blogs? Can anyone recommend some? I generally see men's style on women's blogs.
I adore the gloves and boots! I like reading Charity Shop Realness which is jointly run so has men's and women's outfit posts.

My friend runs that blog! It is a good one. I'm just surprised there aren't more that feature both men and women's style in general. x
DeleteHa ha, what a coincidence. It's one blog I always keep up with. There's definitely a gap for men's style blog posts!
DeleteWonderful photos, what a beautiful backdrop. I like adding a faux fur collar to other coats or jackets too, and those boots are fabulous! xxx
ReplyDeleteI'd like to get some faux fur collars in different colours like you have, a nice red maybe.
DeleteGorgeous photos - you look beautiful! This whole outfit feels quite 70s - you clearly suit this era :) I'm envious of your local scenery. So pretty. I don't know of any menswear blogs really but it's not my area of expertise ;) x
ReplyDeleteIt did feel 70s-tastic, I think I am learning to branch out from the 50s!
DeleteGorgeus photos, scenery and I gotta say I absolutely love your gloves! They're super cute with those bows and I'd wear them anyday :)
ReplyDeleteI love bows too, I just can't help myself!
DeleteCute outfit! Love the gloves matching the dress.
ReplyDeleteLovely colours - cosy but bright on a winter's day! more Kate Bush please - the look suits you! Kx
ReplyDeleteHa, you might regret saying more Kate Bush! It could easily become a full-time obsession!!
DeleteThat is a beautiful dress, coat and gloves. I especially love all the outerwear and as always your fun way of mixing prints and colors. Check out my recap of my favorite dresses of 2014. I think you would like it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, Porcelina!
Stunning pics and some gorgeous charity shop finds in your outfit. Love thrifting you find such unique pieces!

What a babe! That scenery is stunning, and you look seriously cool in that coat and dress. The 70s does 20s style looks fantastic on you - you're a dead ringer for Jane Birkin here with your new bangs.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Jessica, Zella Maybe
I'm warming to 70s styles so much more these days. I've never been compared to Birkin before, she was practically French wasn't she? So that fits my new French girl persona! Thanks x
DeleteThat's a lovely outfit. Good posing too! Do you get posing ideas from magazines or does it just come naturally?
ReplyDeleteI don't think my photographer would agree that I'm good at posing!! He has to take about 15 to get 1 good one. He helps with telling me which way to look and how to stand sometimes, but I definitely do get ideas from other bloggers, particularly the more arty ones. I think watching burlesque gives great posing ideas too!!
DeleteLove the boots!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as the day is long! I love the chic meets earthy palette of this great outfit and the setting itself. Very, very inspiring ensemble shoot, dear gal!

My friend does a men's style blog, http://www.trigandpolished.com/ I love your Kate Bush moment! I'm definitely not a poser myself but love to see you posing <3 I love how perfectly matched your tights are to that dress! Love this outfit! Such an awesome look! :D
ReplyDeleteOoo I'll be sure to check out your friend's blog!
DeleteThanks for the Kate Bush moment appreciation! There's just something about being out in nature that makes me want to channel her!
Gorgeous photos and background! You look adorable here. Positively Love your gloves and coat!

Porcelina these colours are sooooo beautiful on you, plus I love how your hair and the fur are almost one! I've been a huge Kate Bush fan since I saw her on Top of the Pops in the late 70s (showing my age?!!) so I love that reference in your poses/photos!
ReplyDeleteYou may or may not know that my husband has his own menswear blog - you can find him at Silver Londoner. I'm going to do a menswear blog round up in my best bloggers series around the middle of next month if you wanted to look out for that. It'll feature I Am Galla, The Metro Man, Stay Classic, This Fellow and Scout Sixteen, amongst others :)
