The Seamstress of Bloomsbury

The Seamstress of Bloomsbury ran a prize-draw before Christmas to win one of their fabulously authentic 1940's styled outfits.  I didn't win the big prize, but I was a runner-up, and received a lovely polkadot headscarf!

I tried out some different ways of wearing it.  Please excuse the focusing, I'm still getting to grips with the new camera!!

The scarf came beautifully packaged in a little folder, with some pretty postcards and a sachet of rose petals.  Utterly gorgeous!

The scarf is wired, but feels like quite a thick wire, so should stand up to more shaping than some of the thin wired ones available.  I love red, and polkadots, so really it couldn't be more perfect for me!

Let me finish by sharing some of the gorgeous garments available to buy from the Seamstress of Bloomsbury.

This classic 'Clarice' blouse would be a wardrobe staple (£39).

This 'siren suit' is stunning, but alas not long enough in the leg for me (£89).

The 'Rosie' dress is gorgeous (£79).

Had you heard of the Seamstress of Bloomsbury?  What do you think of their range?

  3. I love the Seamstress of Bloomsbury and tried the Clarice blouse on at Revival Retro in London. It was absolutely stunning but, unfortunately, too big so didn't get it :(. I love her dresses and I have vowed to definitely buy myself one this year.
I love the headscarf, you lucky girl winning it! I can see you getting a lot of wear out of it. You can never go wrong with red and white polka dots!!

  4. I also love this scarf (I was also one of the runner up's during the give away from the Seamstress of Bloomsbury), you look great with it, on every way you wear it. The Seamstress of Bloomsbury is also a wonderful brand, their clothes look really good in every aspect.

  5. Nice win! No, I haven't heard of this brand, and though the clothes look lovely, they are out of my price range. I'm such a tight so-and-so! xxx

    1. I think it's good to be choosy sometimes! And only pay big bucks if the quality is there - I think the blouse I would stretch to, but probably couldn't justify the dresses. X

  6. Really darling headscarf! I love sporting polka dots in my hair, too. Especially if the rest of my outfit is more somber. They inject a timeless dose of fun and usually prove to be a good conversation starter. Congrats on your stylish prize, dear gal!

  9. That's really awesome! I think I like #2 best, it's very 60s sex kitten. Looks like a great company, I'll have to check out more of their wares in the future.

  12. You are winning prizes all over the show at the moment! I love this headscarf on you - and it looks so great with the fringe. I've seen this brand about before, don't own anything from them as they're slightly outside my preferred price range... but they have some truly lovely stuff! CC x

  13. I'd heard of them but hadn't seen anything by them - that siren suit is great. And you're really working that scarf! I'd just end up stuffing it in a bag and forgetting it...

    1. That's partly the goal of my 100 day spending ban, to make sure I just wear things, and not forget them! Or maybe decide that I don't like them and give them to charity.

    1. It turned out just fabulously so I'm not at all sorry I didn't win in the pre-Christmas contest! I think I won enough last year with all my frantic competition entries, so time for some others to get lucky! x
