It wasn't quite as glamorous a paradise as that described by Melanie Griffiths in 'Working Girl' in my back garden, but on a gloriously sunny evening and left home alone, I sought out the tripod as I wanted to take some pictures of my new vintage gold bracelet. It has a sort of palm frond design and is from the 1960s. I bought it off the nephew of the lady it had belonged to at a local car boot sale. When I wear it, I feel like I should be living in a Florida-based version of Mad Men, wearing a hostess gown and sinking gin martinis. I'd just come home from a day's training though, so I thought I'd forgo the hostess gown (and the martinis) and stayed in my gingham capris.
I'm co-hosting a fashion link-up today with the lovely Angela from Reasons To Dress, who's bringing a bit of Italian flair to the proceedings. Please scroll down if you would like to take part, we'd love to have you!
Bracelet: Vintage 1960s, via car boot sale
Capris: Primark, last year
Top: Sainsburys
Loafers: George at Asda, old
Bag: Vintage (1960s?), via charity shop
Sunglasses: Dorothy Perkins, gift
I think that little gold palm trees do sound perfect. What would you have in your paradise?
Now it's your turn to share what you've been wearing lately! Feel free to link up any post that features you in an outfit, and please stop by and visit Angela's blog for some Italian inspiration.

Ah, the return of the gingham jeans - makes me want to break my own out! In fact, I probably will be breaking them out as travel-wear to France on Thursday as they're just so comfy. I love the palm tree bracelet too - it definitely deserves a Mad Men style dress at some point! xx
ReplyDeleteI do love those gingham trousers, but that little handbag with the wonderful pattern might have just eclipsed them.

Absolutely loving the trousers … nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so pretty! I love the color and cut of those capris, perfectly retro. The blouse is beautiful too, I can't believe they have such lovely things at Sainsburys, I need to move to the UK!

ReplyDeleteThat bracelet is lovely. The best thing about car boot buys is often finding something out about the previous owner, isn't it?

You do summer casual so well! You make it look lighthearted and fresh.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a glam, gorgeous bracelet - and I so love your idea of it belonging in a Florida based version of Mad Men (I would watch that in a heartbeat).
