Another day, another bargain, and a chance to have some fun with a bit more of a '60s pop look. The tunic is a modern one I picked up at the jumble sale, I think it was £2. The wonderful thing about buying from charity shops, jumble sales and
car boot sales, is that when you're paying such small prices, you can
afford to experiment a bit more with clothes. If you end up feeling
it's not for you, then you can re-donate it, and you've made a small
donation to charity rather than a big loss on the high street. Our
local jumble sale raises funds for the excellent
Mid-Rhondda Brass Band,
which has been going since the 1940s and received more recent support
by a local business, Thomas Coaches. Their base is a small church hall,
and a few years back thieves broke in and ripped out all the pipes,
leaving them needing £8000 to install new piping for their heating.
They were lucky to get a community grant towards their costs,
but they need all the help they can get to keep their practice space
going.

One of the neighbours has painted their house in this fabulous colour pink, and I thought it would be the perfect backdrop. In general, I prefer to do outfit shoots away from where I live as I get a bit self-conscious if I think the neighbours might be looking. Silly really, given that these photos are freely available on the internet for the world to see.

Love these photos! And also love when a neighbour paints their house for you, as recently happened for me too - most considerate ;) The 60s look is really fun on you. Also, lovely smile :) I definitely don't think you have anything to be self-conscious about (although I totally understand teeth fears!) xxx

Completely fun look! Great choice of colour for the background. It isn't always possible, but when it is, I (we) really try to keep the backdrop in mind when shooting a given outfit. It can add a lot to a look without the need for anything else actually going into the outfit itself.
