The coat didn't stay off for long! I am really, really pleased with the dress. Being picky, it could be a bit longer on me, but other than that, the quality is good - the self-covered belt is an unusual touch for Lindybop - and it fits well. I think I only paid about £8 for it in the sale after Christmas. I'd tried the 'Audrey' dress in velvet and had to send it back because it wasn't up to standard, so it was a bit of a gamble trying the dress in another fabric. I'm glad it paid off.
Tell me, does a martini appeal to you, or do you have a different favourite cocktail?
Lovely dress, but I have to admit, I like my dresses AND drinks sweet :D I can't stand strong cocktails, I need drinks that are long and mild and preferably sweet. I love lime so it's always a bonus if I can stuff some lime into them as well :) My favourite has some vodka, sour apple liquouer, mango syrup and Sprite/some other mixer with a lot of lime! Another version doesn't have the syrup, but has apple juice and Ginger Ale Schweppes instead for a fresher style, and I also drink both as non-alcohol versions, since I'm not that into alcoholic beverages to begin with.
ReplyDeleteYou're making me thirsty!! x
DeleteI had to he same idea, bust out the pastels and hope the sun gets the idea. The wait will be worth it though. I do love a good martini, and thus print is super sweet! My favourite cocktail is a whiskey sour, makes me feel like a femme fatale in a sleezy jazz joint.
ReplyDeleteThat's another good cocktail, I agree! I could see you doing the femme fatale look well x
DeleteI really love that jacket, cardigan and gloves! The martini print on that Lindybop dress is so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I love a novelty print!x
DeleteLovely dress, if only it weren't pink.....
ReplyDeleteI'm a daiquiri girl myself!
I'm embracing pink these days. Oo I tried a kiwi daquiri recently and it was lush! X
DeleteLove the dress, brooch and shoes!
ReplyDeletebisous
Suzanne
Thanks Suzanne x
DeleteSuper cute! I always love pale pink and black together. The print on this dress is so fun - and you were right when you said it fits you perfectly. I have just returned from the seaside where we were rained on many times and I tried to take photos of a swing skirt, only to end up with it literally around my ears in some photos (I'm a bit insulted none of the passing cars veered off the road, to be honest)... Spring it is not!! xx
ReplyDeleteI felt a bit gothic adding so much black but it was freezing so I wanted my big black coat!! I hope you were wearing big pants.. xx
DeleteVery cute dress! And what a great deal you got on it! :)
ReplyDeleteI love a sale bargain! X
DeleteWhat a cute dress!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Anthea x
DeleteA very pretty dress, just right for Spring!
ReplyDeleteA mojito for me, please. Xxx
Coming right up! X
DeleteThat Lindy Bop dress is soooo adorable! I'm a huge fan of that print! You look so cute!
ReplyDeletexx Belle
It's fab isn't it? X
DeleteWhat a great dress, and I love the handbag. Oh, and I've spotted the brooch, which is lovely too. I can't wait for spring temperatures so that I can bring out some lighter dresses ... xxx
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone on either count! I wore blue and green yesterday on purpose, just to try and remind Mother Nature of the palette she should be adopting these days again, too. :D
ReplyDeleteThis is such a terrific, smile inducingly fun (seriously, I'm smiling over it right now) frock and brooch. I just love it when one can match their jewelry to their novelty print garment.
Big hugs,
♥ Jessica
Martinis for me too - although they have to be made well. That's a lovely, fun dress - it's great with the pink shoes, although I am also glad that you added the black cardi for some contrast. An outfit for a day having a lot of fun, I think!
ReplyDeleteYou have been very lucky with those Charity shop finds, looking FABULOUS! Love the colour pop shoes, hope they didn't get muddy! Roll on proper springtime! Katie x

I had to hop over a few muddy spots yes, but the shoes were unscathed! Roll on Spring indeed! x
DeletePretty in pink! Oh for a bit of Spring. It's bitter here today.
ReplyDeleteThe only martini I've ever had is that ready made Cinzano stuff served with lemonade in the 1980s. I'm such a pleb. x
Oh, cute dress! You're right, the self-covered belt is an unusual thing nowadays - I'm a massive fan of them, they always look so much neater than contrast belts or ones that tie.
ReplyDeleteI like all sorts of cocktails. I do like a martini, though as we have a mint bush in the garden, in summer I usually just make mahoosive jugs of mojitos to enjoy on the patio.
They do look so much more polished don't they?
DeleteI could drink a Mojito on a warm night...
Oh my god, you look amazing! I have always wanted a martini print dress and I think I have now found it thanks to you! Really loving how you paired it with the vintage martini brooch too. I do like a martini, but lemon drop martinis are my favourite which certainly aren't classic, and are quite sweet/sour!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I can't believe I've never tried a lemon drop martini?! It's going on the list to try over the summer that's for sure!! x
DeleteThat's such a fun print P ! and I love the cut of that jacket.
ReplyDeletePerfect and very original this dress! Also here is sunny but temperatures are low, maybe a martini you can warm! Meanwhile .. this pin! It's so cute!
ReplyDeletes.
that is just an amazingly fun print I love it
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! So sweet, and bright, cute and cozy all at the same time! I love the martini print on the dress too! I just tried a martini for the first time a couple weeks ago. Unlike you though, I do think I prefer my drinks sweet ;) <3
ReplyDeleteAnother great sale find! I love the print, so fun and cheeky. I like how you offset the sweetness of the print with the black cardigan, it keeps it from going too far over the top. I hope you get to drink some martinis in your martini dress soon!
ReplyDeletePink and black ~ a winning combination ~ and definitely a cute cocktail of colour! I'm not really a martini girl myself, but the print is really fun and I think this look suits you delightfully. ❤

ReplyDeleteMeh, not into Martini.now although I liked Martini Citro as a teen!!
